Davis tournament results

Great job to all our fencers this weekend! As many of you already know, we won the Northern California Intercollegiate Fencing League Cup for the first time ever! Congratulations to everyone who went to the tournament and to everyone in the club! Your hard work has paid off!
That being said, there were also a number of individual victories for Cal this weekend. In mixed foil, our own Alex Wolinsky won first place, Stephen Pon second, and Victor Huang third. In sabre, we had Masaki Yamada in first and Victor Huang in third. We also swept team foil with Team SternBEARS in first: Alex Wolinsky, Jillian Chong, and Victor Huang; Rolling Thunder in second: Stephen Pon, Rachel Lee, and Addien Wray; and gnarBEARS in third: CJ Miller, Laura Glass, and Samir Shah. Our saBEARists team (Masaki Yamada, David Barth, and Rosie Fan) won first place in team sabre as well.
Once again, huge congratulations to everyone for dominating the Davis tournament, and hope to see you all the team banquet at the end of the semester!
Davis Tournament

The annual UC Davis tournament will be held next Saturday, April 14th. That being said, please sign up here if you plan on attending! The tournament will cost $15, and don't forget to preregister on AskFred as well!
Mixed Novice Foil will take place at 9am, Mixed Advanced Foil at 10am, Mixed Epee at 11:30am, and Mixed Sabre at 12:30pm. There will also be team events on Sunday, so let one of the officers know if you're interested in participating in that!

If you're not caught up on the latest fencing news, we've got some quick updates for you!
1. Movie Night! Take advantage of the long weekend by hanging out with your fencing friends this Friday. We'll be watching a movie at 7:30 in 183 Dwinelle, (the movie hasn't been decided yet, so RSVP to the FB event here to contribute your opinion)! Also, we'll conveniently be setting up for the tournament the next day after the movie, so be sure to spare another hour to help us out!
2. NCIFL Tournament this Saturday! This will likely be an all-day event, so plan accordingly! Be sure to sign up here if you're interested in participating. We all want Cal Fencing to sweep the top places, don't we? :)
